Delete Your Vanihla Account

The fastest way: in the app

Open Vanihla and go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account. Your deletion is scheduled right away and you're signed out; your account is deleted after a 14-day grace window (see below).

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete or de-identify your personal data, including:

• Your profile (name, photo, email, and account details)
• Your recipe collections
• Your shopping lists
• Your messages
• Your follows and followers

What's kept

• Recipes other cooks have saved or rated, and your ratings stay available so their collections and recipe scores keep working — but they're anonymized: your name is removed, they're re-attributed to “Vanihla Chef”, and the text and photos of your reviews are deleted.
• Posts and comments you published may stay visible to other cooks.
• Residual copies may remain for a limited time in backups, and our service providers may keep records under their own retention practices.
• A record of the deletion itself is kept for security, abuse-prevention, and legal-compliance purposes. For a deletion you request through this page, that record and our correspondence with you may include the email address you provided.

If you subscribe to Vanihla Pro

Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Vanihla Pro subscription. Billing continues through the Apple App Store or Google Play until you cancel it in your store account's subscription settings.

The 14-day grace window

Deletion you request in the app isn't instant — you get a 14-day grace window. If you change your mind, sign back into the app and tap Cancel any time before the scheduled deletion date, and your account is restored. After the date passes, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Request deletion without the app

Uninstalled the app or can't sign in? Submit your account's email address below and we'll process the deletion for you.

To protect your account, we verify each request against the account's email address before processing it, and we act on requests we can confirm come from the account owner. We aim to process a verified request within 30 days.
